SELLING OUT OF DATE ITEMS

Hi Folks
I bought some hand sanitiser bottles over the weekend.  However, when I got home I realised that they were all out of date.
I shall be taking them back to the shop, but can I get some sort of compensation for being sold these out of date hand sanitisers?
Thanks

The compensation word is not liked on here :) You could ask for the manager and explain how annoyed you are that you have had to return an out of date item, you may get a voucher or something.

Yes, a refund, assuming you have proof of purchase.

Image result for can hand sanitizer expire
Usually, the industry standard is 2 to 3 years before hand sanitizer expires. How long was it out of date?

"Hand sanitiser" as in alcohol gel? Do they actually "expire" in any meaningful sense?
Highly alcoholic things don't really go off.

It’s like bottled beer, they all BB dates on them but unless the cap is broken on them they are good for years beyond those dates.

I thought stuff like sun cream etc usually had an image of an open can and something like '12M' or '18M' indicating the effective date once it has been opened.
I've just looked at a bottle of hand sanitiser bought yesterday from Aldi and it says '12M'.
I've checked the handwash I have in loos and kitchen and they all have the same symbol - that's Radox, Imperial Leather.
    What brand did you buy?
    And where from?

FWIW, I have just looked at a couple of hand sanitizer bottles of different brands. Both have expiry dates on them. So, yes, bottles do have expiry dates.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Yes they have expiry dates, although I very much doubt they do "expire" that much on the dates in question and wouldn't still be active for years to come, but that's not the point.

Return them for a refund, not sure why you think you need compensation though.
