  • There is no need to be hostile at all you simply dont seem to get peoples concerns about nabbing loads of freebies. By the very nature of you getting two others have missed out not everyone uses MSE or places like it.

Well now they won't miss out will they. I have seen hundreds of posts on here that say " got one for my Mum too and she loved it" which gave me the idea in the first place. But instead I am vilified for it. I'm not being hostile, just saying it like it is. I'm a giver not a taker hence the giving them up and didn't do it so others would miss out intentionally, I did it for my Mum and MIL. I'm not that conniving to take for the sake of it. I appreciate some people are like that but NOT me. I would never have begrudged anyone doing this for their Mum and would have just put it down to oh I missed out on a great offer (and yes I have missed loads and loads) but tell someone they were being greedy - no, I wouldn't have done that. Guess that is why I am disillusioned enough to stop posting on here once I have posted the jugs out to those that missed out.

I said save the comments as they get no-one anywhere when they are negative, all they do is upset people who were genuinly heling someone. 2 people will not miss out as I have offered them up. This is my final post except to answer pm's with addresses to post the jugs out as I am now in tears that people think I am greedy and have taken the comments to heart.

  • I agree that there are some people who order loads of something free (sometimes to sell on ), which depletes the stock to be shared amongst other people. I think that's very unfair, just as I think it's silly to order & keep something you have next to no use for when someone else could be making very good use of it. fedupconsumer is right on that point. However, there are times when I'll order something for myself, times when I'll also order something for a friend or relative in their name as well because they don't have internet access & would welcome the item, & times when I'll only order for them because I know I won't use the thing but they will. I see nothing wrong with that. I doubt I'm the only one who does that, so I think people who act like me probably even out what we get for ourselves and/or others in the end.

Deefin makes a valid point too. Loads of us will order things from companies we're never normally in touch with, just because we've seen the offer here or on another freebie board. I don't believe every person who ordered the jug did so because they read of the offer in the Mail, & it would be daft of anyone to pretend that was the case - it's like saying everyone who ordered the Bosch handwarmers normally uses Bosch products, or everyone ordering the Nivea samples got the e-mails from Nivea or normally uses that range. :) The main thing is that the item will be used by the person it's ordered for.

Howmuchcaniget, if you don't want to use MSE again, that's up to you, but don't make other people responsible for that decision. At the end of the day, you chose to say how many you'd ordered & that was bound to annoy some people, especially those who'd only ordered one & didn't get anything. By the same token, you're letting the views of people you don't even know bother you far too much - if you're going to let them keep you away from somewhere you enjoy, you'll be missing out on a lot. It's not worth it. :) Just remember next time - no freebies are guaranteed & there are limited stocks of everything, so either don't be so open about how many you've ordered in future or be prepared to take any criticism you get on the chin when you say. You're taking this far too personally - there's nothing to get so upset about.

And definitely don't send the jugs out to anyone unless you actually know the person. For all you know, the person claiming not to have got one could have done the same as you & might just want another for someone else, or they might want it to sell on, or might just want to deprive you of it! :( There are some selfish/greedy people about, so keep the jugs, but learn the lesson for next time. :)

It's suddeenly dawned on me that they're giving them away as they expect us all to race out and buy filters - at that price they've got no chance.
