If the tenant has asked for £5k to get out, sounds reasonable to me.But you're going to have to pay the gas bill and sounds like it might cost a few grand to get the place sellable.I'd budget £10k overall.0

Perhaps I got confused between Cache 22, Cashed pages and Catch-4-Keys

Judging by this thread and the OP's other threads, I suspect we'll see them back.
Failure to resolve the Estate of whoever the deceased is for ten years is only ever going to cause challenges.
It rather seems as though instead of splitting the Estate, or transferring the property portfolio as a whole into a new legal entity, there has been an attempt to simply continue trading as the Estate of the Deceased. I wonder how many of the OP's posts about new BTL and new funding have been related to expanding the property portfolio within the "Estate of the Deceased"? I am surprised that continuing trading under the management of the Executors is even permitted beyond a reasonable time-frame to conclude matters.
At some point, one of the beneficiaries is going to pass also and their estate will not be able to be resolved without the current deceased estate being resolved.
Plus it must add massive complexity to the taxation - CGT and income tax within the estate of the deceased???

It seems the Op likes to selectively drip feed information and then throw their toys out of the pram when challenged.
No doubt the sort of person that deals with life's curveballs by getting in a huff and stomping their feet until they get their way. Doesn't work with councils and courts I'm afraid.
I suspect this is all going to end in tears. Best way forward will be to pay the tenant whatever it takes to get them to leave, and then sell the property.

What actually happens if the Executors fail to conclude the Estate ofthe Deceased in a timely manner? Are there rules about that? Certainly, continuing to operate a property portfolio in the name of the Estate just seems to create excessive complexity all round.0
