yes, £80 estimated fixed solicitors' costs

They could have shot themselves in the foot here, ask the SRA.

Hi Again, I have received another email from Gladstones.

"Whilst we have noted the content, your representations do not amount to a defence. Please fnd enclosed the evidence you requested.

To ensure no further action is taken, you should make payment no later than 14 days from the date on this letter.

In the event we do not receive payment within the time scale specified, our Client reserves all its rights, including the right to commence Court proceedings, without further reference to you.

To make a payment, please call 01565 755088 and speak to one of our advisors."

Fine, ignore them then and defend the claim when it comes, in July probably.

Please do us and yourself (and the driving public) a favour and stick around on this forum every week - at least for the Summer - to ensure you see when the Government publish and open the final Technical Consultation.

We will be talking about it and the public will have about 4 weeks we think, to tell the MHCLG what you think about the level of parking charges, that the MHCLG has admirably decided already will start at £50 (50% discount) and not £100:

Outcome of 2020 Consultation (look what the public comments achieved so far):

    https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/parking-code-enforcement-framework/outcome/parking-code-enforcement-framework-consultation-response

Planned Summer 2021 additional Public Consultation:

    https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-to-open-technical-consultation-on-fairer-parking-charges

It's not open yet but please keep check here to see when it is.

We need real people like you to counter the spamming that happened last time from the industry.

This advises to raise with the Solicitor directly first, so I have emailed the Ombudsmen for advice re the estimated fixed costs.

Interesting, I will do...£100 straight off the bat is harsh especially with their corrupt complaints process.

Does their LBC have a box as shown in this thread, saying that the estimated LEGAL fees are £80, yet the claim is under £300?  I think you said it did but have you reported Gladstones yet?

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/78446019#Comment_78446019

If so, please complete a report against Gladstones, who are already under investigation and have been for a year or more.

Do not complain about any other costs - ONLY THE FALSELY ESTIMATED £80 in this SRA complaint.

DP please remove that link, no-one can complain to the Law Society as they are not Gladstones customers.

The link I gave is the right one - THE SRA.

@c@Coupon-mad I have spoken with SRA and they advised Solicitors can charge whatever they want. Solicitors charges aren't regulated, however I think this is different to CPRs

The LBC has the same box, I can attach a formatted copy without personal details if need be.

I have sent an email complaint re Gladstones estimated costs today to report@sra.org.uk as per your guidance and the forum link. Again happy to attached my paragraph if needed.

    Thanks again!

They have missed the point and not understood your complaint, they seemed to think you were a CUSTOMER complaining about the money Gladstones charged you!

Make sure your complaint makes it clear, showing the TABLE FROM THE CPRs, that Gladstones are trying to mislead consumers about the legal fees that are in fact capped at £50.

    Hi,

My Father got a ticket in the same place back in Dec 2018 i believe (at the rear of Clapham Junction through yellow posts)...It's been a long time but recently went to Court / MCOL stage.

I may get round to making a new thread with my Fathers ticket info - just wanted to ask if you have any updates please in case worth swapping notes!

    Thanks
