Bought house in November - land registry still has old owner down.

I checked land registery a couple of days as as i needed proof of ownership. It still has the last owner down. I've contacted my solicitors(who were useless and slow going through the process) and they've responded with its taking a little longer than usual due to covid. I asked how long its been taking and they wouldn't…

I know there are other ways, but i opted for this when i needed it as it seemed the quickest way. Which highlighted the fact.
Land registry on here have said its normal while land registry on the own forum have said its shouldn't take more than 6 weeks 🤔

Normal for new register creates. Already registered then 6+ weeks.
But as you now state the application hasn’t been lodged yet so hopefully solicitor can explain things for you
