Hi as spain doesnt need a negative test for entry to the country are the uk airlines such as ryanair definitely not refusing boarding for flights to majorca if you dont have one of these ?

It depends on the airline but almost all will refuse you permission to fly. If you want to fly then get the test or risk being denied boarding.Moneysavingexpert117 said:Hi as spain doesnt need a negative test for entry to the country are the uk airlines such as ryanair definitely not refusing boarding for flights to majorca if you dont have one of these ?1 -
Why will they tho if the country im going to doesnt need it and i live in belfast. So before you get on any flight you need this cert even if the country youre going to doesnt need it ?
Defies logic.0 -
A UK national doesn't need to hold a passport to fly to Dublin (a driving licence or pensioner's bus pass are acceptable) but if they fly with Ryanair they do need a passport. Airlines make up their own rules sometimes.Moneysavingexpert117 said:Why will they tho if the country im going to doesnt need it and i live in belfast. Have you checked Ryanair's T&Cs: https://www.ryanair.com/ie/en/useful-info/help-centre/ryanair-uk-terms-and-conditions0
I can't see a mention of mandatory PCR tests on all flights, only a mention that refusing to wear a mask or take a temperature check could see you barred from travelling.0 -
It does not "defy logic", they are doing it to cover themselves so that they do not risk one person on a giant sealed aluminium tube infecting the other 100-200 people.Moneysavingexpert117 said:Why will they tho if the country im going to doesnt need it and i live in belfast. Travelling in the middle of a pandemic is going to have conditions and carriers are free to impose their own conditions as well. If you do not agree with them you are free to charter your own plane.5 -
My question was directed more at anyone who may have already flown and would have a definite answer. I have checked all the conditions of entry to spain and no test is required. So you dont have the answer you are just guessing. I wont be chartering a plane but thanks anyway.1

Before you look at the entry conditions, you need to look at the airlines conditions. They don't need to be the same0

Knowing what someone experienced last week isn't the same as knowing what you need to do as things are changing all the time. I gave you the link to Ryanair's T&C's, you can check it properly yourself. If Ryanair change anything between when you book and when you fly they'll have to email you an update. If you can't be arsed reading their T&C's then you should just stay at home, as for people who can't be bothered to read and follow instructions, now is not the time to try and go abroad.Moneysavingexpert117 said:My question was directed more at anyone who may have already flown and would have a definite answer. The official advice from the government is don't go on holiday to Spain and only go there if it's essential, so there may not be anyone on here who has just flown to Spain specifically with Ryanair from Belfast.0 -
Yes they are doing exactly that.Moneysavingexpert117 said:My question was directed more at anyone who may have already flown and would have a definite answer. I also want to know the answer (not to Spain and not on Ryanair but in general) and it seems quite hard to find out. Despite the awful reception you've received from those with too much time on their hands, I do hope you'll spare a minute to update the thread when you find out for sure what the policy is.

The information will be on gov.uk and the website of any relevant airline operator, so before booking it is up to the individual to check the individual requirements and comply with this.michael1234 said:

Failure to do so will result in denied boarding. This is not guessing, this is fact.💙💛 💔2 -
I have looked up the airline information of course i have. It tells me what the entry requirements are for the country only so i can only think ryan air wont ask customers for a test to board when spain doesnt require it. I just wanted clarification as i actually phoned ryan air and they said they cant give me any information and i need to go online and look up each countrys policy which i have done.CKhalvashi said:
