I am in a similar situation but now I'm reaching the desperate stage. I have vinyl records up to the ceiling and just want to sell them as a job lot but people don't want the bundle, they want them all listing separately (a very time consuming job!) so they can pick and choose. Which is fair enough I guess if you put yourself in a buyer's position.
I recently put a picture frame (never used and still in original packing but I'd had it for 10 years) on Facebook for a tenner with two unused prints thrown in - the lot cost me £32 ten years ago - but when the lady came to collect it she was so lovely I just let her have the lot for nothing. I'm never going to be rich at this rate!
You can be as tight as you like - I'm not tight so much as on a low income - but if people don't want to buy your stuff you may just have to resign yourself to the fact that you're going to have to give it away or put a bit of effort into selling - i.e. taking photos, listing stuff, arranging collections etc. It's all a big faff. But there's Gumtree too, if you haven't already considered them.
I also like Blue_Doggy's suggestion, above - a really good cause. Failing all that, just take it all to your local rubbish dump and then forget about it and move on to your new home with that great feeling of freedom! Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Following with interest as I'm doing the same (assuming I end up buying the property I have had offer accepted on!).
I've asked friends and family, put some stuff on Facebook / Gumtree / Ebay, taken some to charity. No real passing traffic here so nobody would notice if it was outside sadly.0 -
We were in a similar situation when we moved out last October and ended up paying a house clearance company. I’d managed to get rid of some things on Facebook, and taken a carload to a charity shop, and another carload to the tip but it was becoming a full time job trying to source homes for items. I also struggled to get a house clearance company as most were booked up well after our completion date.0

Could you put it on Marketplace/local FB pages by making a grid, number squares 1-12, put items in squares and call it photo 1. Repeat for 10 photos. So one listing has 120 items. If you store in ‘photo groups’ and price low, say photo 1-3 £1 per item, photo 4 £3 per item etc.
I did this and sold a lot of bits.0 -
We got rid of a load on facebook marketplace, gumtree, didn't price too highly and people came happily, even for items for £1 or £2 and it all really added up! We also gave a load of items for free on the sites too and left a few boxes outside. Don't take to the tip...it will be in landfill for years. Good luck!0

Hi
I think it depends what type of stuff it is.
You can make money selling second hand but you do need to factor in the time it takes & how much realistically you'll get.
Car boots always seem like a good idea but when you see people trying to haggle over 50p it puts me off. Personally I'd rather give it away to a good cause rather than be face the haggling & people trying to rip me off.

There’s an app called Olio for getting rid of free stuff. Haven’t used it though so no idea how effective it is0

People round here sell all sorts of random stuff on Facebook, paving slabs, broken lawn mowers. Sometimes with terrible photos of a pile of stuff, someone will ask "whats the blue thing?" and then offer £2 or whatever. If you photograph a few nice things and say lots more available you may get people coming to look as they would at a car boot sale, they are probably missing the chance to go to car boot sales too.

I'm thinking of giving them a try, so would be interested in an feedback.
