Advice on what to do before and on the day of completion....

Hey folks...we exchanged on our dream house on Tuesday and are completing this Tuesday coming. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on things we need to do before next Tuesday and any advice for the day itself? Many thanks in advance, I'm really excited but want to make sure I don't forget things and can have some enjoyment. I'm worrying about all the 'what ifs' at the moment...such as..the house being left in a state.

First off, congrats. Secondly relax all the hard work is done you will soon own your dream house. Thirdly manage expectations as it wont be as clean or as perfect as you thought but its ok you will put your own stamp on it.
Completion day make sure your phone is fully charged and in range, have snacks handy, relax and go get a coffee and chill as it may be a few hours before you can get the keys after you move out/ready to move in.
Maybe introduce yourself to the neighbours while you wait, we did and it was a plus as they said we could use their drive.1 -
I assume you are first time buyers? If that is the case there isn’t much for you to do. Have you got house insurance ready to go and a list of people you will need to notify of your new address?Have a think about what you will need to do immediately- take
utilities readings, get broadband sorted etc.
I always change the locks when I move into a new place, you never know who has keys.1 -
