What do I need to do?

Hi everyone, completion is set for next Thursday. I need to figure out what essentials I need to do. I know who the gas and electricity is with so will give them a call to give final meter readings as we'll be changing supplier, but what else do I need to do? Who do I need to change address with (bank, doctor etc, but anyone else?). What are the essential things to do when you move house? Thanks

DVLA license and V5 owner doc
Car insurance
Car breakdown services

Dentist
Optician

Update DVLA with the new address for any drivers AND cars. Car insurance will also need updating.
Take meter readings at the new house asap (I took photos of the meters - gas, electricity and water) and your old home (again assuming that you're not currently with relatives).
Update work?
Dentist/doctor etc. I also told the hospitals that we were currently receiving care from as they only got updated with a new referral otherwise and I didn't want to miss appointments.
Financial stuff: banks, credit cards, pension providers, savings, premium bonds, HMRC.
Loyalty schemes: Tesco, Nectar etc.
I found that a lot of things could be updated online which time saved writing letters. Some were happy to change details over the phone as well.
Hope it goes well next week. Don't stress too much; this time next week you'll be having fun settling into your new home.

I had a huge list of places I had to contact to change address. The only one we forgot was the vets. I remembered to update the cats microchip, but not the vets themselves 🤦
We had a redirect for three months, we don't actually get much in the post these days so decided this was enough.
But generally the lists above are a good start.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
Inform council re council tax when you move into your new property.
