Land Registry NEED HELP ASAP

So were in the final stages of buying a house and believed today we would exchange. We need to complete before end of stamp duty holiday or its an extra 9000! My solicitor rings me today and says the postcode on the title deed is incorrect. I checked with seller who says this is an old postcode. Royal mail post code checker confirms that is an old postcode and new one is correct. My solicitor is saying we can't complete until its changed but sellers solicitor is saying this shouldn't be an issue and we can simply change it once we complete.... Any help or advice would be hugely appreciated, having a slight meltdown 🤣

The Land Registry have nothing to do with postcodes. As long as the map of your plot is correct and Royal Mail have confirmed the postcode issue then there's nothing to worry about.4

Why does your solicitor think the postcode matters? What matters is whether it's the right property, which is down to whether the red outline (or whatever) on the title plan shows the right bit of land, not what address the LR or anybody else uses for it.1

Our solicitor is adamant sale can't go through if title deed postcode does not match the postcode on our mortgage offer0
-
Says until title deed is changed which can take weeks we can't proceed0

There is a specific thread entitled Land Registry questions (currently on page 2) so it would be a good idea if you re-post there as a LR representative answers the questions. Hope that helps.0

Your solicitor's wrong. Try asking them to explain why the postcode matters.1

I'm sure there are plenty of older title deeds whose postcode (on the deed) doesn't match the postcode on newer mortgage records ...:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Is this a solicitor or a conveyancer?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

So it's actually your lender that's refusing to exchange, not your solicitor. Have they explained why Royal Mail's confirmation isn't good enough for them?0

This is my conveyancer. Lender hasnt been told as far as I'm aware0
