Oh my snoozer, what disgusting people. Makes you wonder what their house looks like.
I hope you can claim from them for the damage - is there some sort of black list for Air B&B customers?
'Bamburgh Castle'!! You made me chuckle monna.15 -
Morning all
Lovely bright and sunny day here the weekend has been really lovely weather its so nice to see the sun.
On Saturday we cut the front hedge and mowed the lawns so its all looking tidy outside, one of my elderly neighbours called me over to show me her garden and then the back garden and then the houseI was gone for over 1/2 hour as she would not stop talking ! OH finished the lawn by the time I got back, I think she is lonely so I will pop over every now and then, she is 90 and still does all her gardening and housework herself ! We then went to the pub for a drink in the evening and it was so nice to be able to sit in the sunshine.
Yesterday we had a ride out and walked the dogs in the woods and had a picnic it was lovely and we walked about 5 miles, came home and had bread cheese cold meats etc for dinner - a lovely day.
Today we will take the dogs out again but stay more local ans then tonight will be the first bbq of the yearI am very much looking forward to it, we have some pork chops and some chicken to cook and I shall do salads and some jersey royals we also picked us some asparagus from a tiny stall yesterday so we will have that as well.
Snoozer how shocking that those people left your house in that state, I hope you can keep their deposit or get some money back from them xxx
Gers I think you are wise to get on with clearing your mums estate these things are always hard but the sooner its done the sooner you can move back to your lovely cottage xxx
Hopefully see you all at Nels spa later, looking forward to lounging in the sun with a cocktail xxx
Have good days all xx

Morning all, just a quick pop in to wish everyone a happy BH Monday. I didn't get on yesterday as I spent all day in the garden and then down to DD's for an impromtu BBQ. We had the best of times, I'd missed being together so much. Today I'm hosting another of the moment meal which was only decided last night. It will be a roast dinner for Dad, DD, DGC and Jasper, however SiL is going to Wembley to watch the football. It's just a roast chicken and the trimmings, then there is fruit in jelly or fruit crumble with ice cream/custard for pud.Snoozer they should round them up and stand them against a wall......... I shan't finish that sentence but hopefully you'll get the gist. Don't know how some people can live with themselves these days.Sorry I haven't read back yet but I hope everyone is wellTake care all, enjoy the day if you cannan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13

Snoozer, maybe you'll just have to try and accept it, and make a note of their name so you never let them have the property again. They probably do that sort of thing wherever they go, terrible isn't it.

Morning (just!),
Sun is shining here in Manchester, apparently set to hold for most of the week. A lot of yesterday was spent in the garden, planting stuff - I've run out of compost, will have to wait for OH to come back from his mum's to go and get some more.
Also had a nice chat with the neighbour I like - and the other ones seem to have gone away for the weekend, so no Saturday night drunken shouting and loud music starting at about 11.30 pm (we've nicknamed the girlfriend 'Gob almighty' due to her impressive volume)
Made myself clear the dining room table and have tasked myself with finishing at least one of the many UFO's I have lying around - I've put a patch in a pair of OH's work trousers yesterday evening, which is a start..2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used

I've made it back safely with a wee detour to Camelot's to break up the journey. There was an accident near to Loch Lomond though I got past the overturned caravan before the police and ambulance arrived. The looked OK and had been moved, no casualties so only a blocked A82. Getting back from Lomondgate was more difficult as the road was just rammed, all very slow but moving. One of my now deceased friends lived in Bamburgh, directly across from the castle, think the street was The Windings. He and his wife were great friends with the owner of the castle and he (my friend) hosted lots of parties for people there. Lovely place, the beach is just gorgeous. Now I have to cool down for a while and have some lunch.14

Good afternoon all. I have been AWOL for a few days. My hands are causing me a lot of hassle, I have reverted to wearing my splints, but get in a terrible mess trying to type with them on. New laptop is ultra sensitive and keeps doing odd things when the splints get too close to the trackpad thingy even tho' fingers are not touching it!
I am getting a bit anxious about a hospital appointment tomorrow for Zoledronic Acid infusion, not the procedure itself, but have to go to the QE in Birmingham, OH will drive me, but cannot come in with me. I am absolutely fine finding my way around the new hospital, but the old part is like a rabbit warren, I have no sense of direction when I get inside a large building, still as I said to OH yesterday I have a tongue in my head so may take a few wrong turns, but unlikely to get properly lost. BP will surely be a bit raised though.
So pleased that many of you have had lovely trips out and meet ups with family, must be so uplifting.
Best wishes to all the poorly folks, and those who care for them.
Take care. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)12 -
Thanks everyone,
Clients of Airbnb are reviewed like the properties so they will not be getting a good rating. Unfortunately since our agent let it to them a very negative review appeared from a property in Skipton where they had done a similar thing. It looks as if they stay somewhere until they don't have any bedding or crockery left and then leave it. Words fail me, like you Csarina we always leave a property the way we would like to find it.
Maddie, I hope your hands feel better soon, ditto to Nels.13 -
maddie my youngest dd used to get very anxious visiting unfamiliar hospitals. I used to get her to look for the signs all hospitals have. There are also the volunteers usually just inside the building who are very helpful PALS. They'll give directions, answer questions and are the first stop for registering a complaint if needed. It seems the change in the weather has left many of us with painful hands, joints and muscles. Cold, wet and windy is bad and now it's too hot for us to sleep. My first jab had to be delayed due to a massive flare and it was touch and go I'd be able to have my second last Saturday. I did manage it and that's a relief. You may remember the Cloudy with a Touch of Pain trial DD and I took part in with many others. It did prove the effect weather changes had on many long term health conditions.I have a new laptop and it has a terrible touch pad with a mind of it's own. It wasn't possible to view it in real life so Iwent on recommendations from another part of the forum. it's fine apart from the touch pad being a real problem with Arthritic hands and Fibro Fog . I've had a lot of sleepless nights while flaring so about 4am this morning I was online ordering a mouse. Dd mainly uses her phone but when she uses her desktop she now uses a mouse as her hands are too painful. Might be worth you trying one. I went for the one dd uses which has been very good. Logitech less than £10 and mine has Am Prime free delivery.I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.Gers I'm so glad you got to the cottage and a chance to look around your beloved home area. I remebered back when I was a daily poster you showing photos of your back garden and talking about your plans. Once things are sorted I wish you many happy years in your home. It's been wonderful to read of others memories of your mum at different times in her life. It must be helpful to fill in the gaps and see other aspects of her life.Hope everyone has enjoyed their bank holiday, warm wishes to the poorlies and the carers.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.11
