Anyone had  to deal with similar issues. Would our building insurance be valid?
Unfortunately yes, but I'm on the other side, particularly if its a gas BBQ etc

Our lease similarly only prohibits laundry however the management company send annual letters saying that BBQs are also banned. Their arguments have been many, and several they've admitted are pure flights of fancy, but ultimately they claim they'd have to declare to their insurers that they allow BBQs and have an email from their broker stating that such a declaration would increase the freeholders insurance and that is a breach of clause 32.

I could have argued that surveys have been completed on the building and about 40% of the units clearly have BBQs present on the balcony or roof terraces and therefore any impact on premiums will have already been felt but to be honest I just gave up and willing the cantacrous woman that complains weekly to the managing company about someone or something decides to move out

Whether it is safe would entirely depend on the construction of the balcony, the walls, any cladding, the railings, other items on the balcony etc. Whether it is sensible and/or whether it is anti-social are separate matters. If the leasehold agreement does not prohibit it then it is potentially going to be hard to stop them.
The property is in Scotland, so there won't be a lease.
