Change of letting agency

Options
I've been using a letting agent which so far has been okay, but I feel like I need sometimes to push for resonses and also they haven't been able to find a new tenant for about a month for a property that in the area is getting snapped in 2 days.
I feel like the current location of the current agency (outside of the city centre) as well as being focused more on sales than lettings - all in all I've spoken to another agency which is much more letting oriented and I'd like to switch.
The new agent told me I only need to ask the current agent to take the property off the market i.e. to remove its listing and that's it - I'd like to know if there are other things to consider?
I'd like of course to do it nicely and thank the current agency for what they've done - other than sending an email is there anything else that I should do or consider?

What are the cancellation terms that you agreed to in the contract with your current agency?

I am not sure to be honest, I've only filled out some form with my information and signed it but I don't see any agreement to that - what's the norm with such types of requests? I'm quite flexible.

Have you got a copy of the contract you signed ?
Read the terms and conditions very very carefully before you sign up to another letting agents.

Doesn't seem like I signed any contract, is it normal?

I spoke to the 1st agent and he already replied to me, in a way I feel a bit annoyed with myself as I feel a bit disrespectful for the loyalty towards the 1st one ... they were overall doing a good job, and perhaps I shouldn't have been too quick to "switch" although businesswise I feel like the 2nd agent is located in a place where it would be easier for them to market the property.

The 2nd one offered me they would both market it, and if they don't source a tenant then I would continue as normal with the 1st one, no commitment without finding one - what do you think? I feel like sometimes I'm placing myself in a pickle where I don't have to, but that's how life has been for me many times throughout the years.

You almost certainly agreed to terms, possibly from email or letter .

It is unwise as a landlord to get a reputation for ignoring agreements:. IMHO you'd not want any tenant to find you ignore terms.... thus a hint that paying rent in full/on time or looking after the place doesn't matter.....

Why do you think that 'a form you signed' is not a contract? Anyway, you have clearly formed a contract with the agent because they been letting the property for you already, regardless of whether you signed anything. A verbal contract is legally binding, just the same as a written one.
But no LA is going to let a property out for you without a written and signed contract.

Why do you assume I'm ignoring agreements? I spoke to both 1st and 2nd ones, they are happy to proceed.
We are completely not on the same page.

I don't think you and tafl understand me. I couldn't find any agreement in my records. That doesn't mean or imply I'm ignoring the agreement or assume it doesn't exist. Practically I've already spoken to both of them. There is no problem whatsoever.

Do you currently have a tenant in place? In which case you will have to make arrangements for the deposit.
When I was a tenant, I rented the property through Agent 1. At the time of moving out, I had to hand my keys in to Agent 2. I can't remember exactly, but there were problems getting my deposit back and I think this somehow involved Agent 1.
