How To Get Rid Of Moths

I had a big problem with moths as well in my old flat. I bough a moth spray called Rug Remedy for carpets which works very well and kills existing moths / larvae and keeps carpet protected for months. Worth a try. As for the clothes much harder. They recommend freezing clothes in freezer but not sure how practical that is when you have lot's of clothes.

Did you guys have the moths in every room? We have them in all the rooms and I don't think I could manage hoovering and cleaning and tidying everyday. I might have to call someone in.
Those sticky trap things are good, they caught loads last year but they keep coming back. I might try some sprays first and see how I get on.0 -

I bought the rug remedy spray for my new place particularly as was worried to transfer moths from the old one but so far so good. Anything that touches the carpet including spiders seems to die from the spray which I personally like.
If I were you, I would try the spray and it should definitely make a difference. If you read the reviews you can see that it worked for many people. By the way, I am not affiliated in any way to the link I provided earlier, just sharing my experience0 -
I had them via a new carpet several years back. A well known pest company charged me £1500 to not get rid of them. A local pest controller used bendiocarb and that worked but has been withdrawn now.
I also did a "mop up" treatment with these little critters:

In my case it wasn't clothes related and was confined to one room.
Moths were white/silvery colour and about 1-1.5cm long.
They might've been a different kind to the ones in question.

The traps only tell you that you have them, they kill the adult moths but it's too late by then, they've probably already laid eggs into your carpet. If you've ever had children who've had nits, you have to treat it in the same way to break the life cycle.2 -
Mine were mostly confined to the attic conversion. I'd see them in other rooms but there was no active infestation elsewhere. The traps are for monitoring, not getting rid of them. If I had a problem with them in every room to be honest I'd rip all the carpets out. I'd also have done that had I realised how hard they'd be to get rid of. It'd have been cheaper.Officially in a clique of idiots1

Honestly having lived in many places with moths I can only say do all the things other have said. Pheromone sticky traps (gross but effective), things other hang in wardrobes and out in cupboards. Its the time of year they come out. If you have wool carpet or rugs def make sure you move your furniture to hoover and spray as the LOVE dark corners and natural fibres. Open the wardrobe doors. Wash all clothes you can. Theyre a right pain unfortunately. It doesn't mean your flat is damp they just love munching natural fibres! Oh and put moth ball things in the hoover bag or empty it regularly (if it has a bag) as they can eat all the fibres in that too!2

The problem with phenomenal traps is that they only work on male moths so only one or two have to escape the trap long enough to mate and you have a whole new generation to deal with. There are also several species of cloths moths and I am not sure they work on all of them.
