So it was definitely worth asking!
I've just done the same. They had never heard of the Zero Fixed Oct 2022 tarrif but I asked nicely and they found it in the tarrif list, then passed a note to the back office to move me to it.

Fingers crossed I get the written conf soon. Appreciate the suggestion, cheers!
having read this thread I asked via live chat and the rep said they had "applied" to change my tariff to Zero Fixed Oct 2022

whether I actually get it is another question

I've done the same via live chat, emailed a transcript of the chat log to myself as evidence. They said I should get a confirmation email within 3 working days.

Glad to hear that my efforts have helped others in their efforts to find a new zero standing charge tariff. I received written confirmation after 8 days. BG had said 7, so not bad. I haven't set up an online account so all was done by phone and post.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes and please give me a "thanks". Cheers

After a relatively unsuccessful phone call with them yesterday and, in light of the above comments, I had another go via 'chat' this time.
Changed to Zero Fixed Oct 2022 with no hassle or argument. (I got the impression from their initial question they were expecting it from me!)
Received 'chat' transcript to confirm matters.

    ... and relax.
  • Yay!!! Well done Lulu. Glad to hear the chat line worked for you this time and you didn't need the phone number I PMd you.

I can manage my British Gas account online and logging in today (3 days after I requested the new tariff it by phone) it does say on the screen that my new tariff is the Zero Fixed Oct 2022 one. So it seems to have worked. Great stuff!

Just checked my online account and it's switched to the Zero Fixed Oct 2022 tariff. British Gas certainly don't seem to want to promote it, Thank you, I wouldn't have known about it without your tip off.

    I'm having similar problems.
I use the library for my internet access, but don't see a chat faciity when I use the link posted above for getting a quote.

How do you get to the chat faciity?

I found Chat by going thro all the menu options.
Luckily, there is no-one waiting for the computer.

    I eventually got the message:
I have arranged this to be changed and it will change in 5 working days

I do not have a B Gas web account, so how could I verify this?
