Did you not get the book stamped?  The book being stamped is a key thing when making a warranty claim.

Book? Stamp? That's a really old car then ;-)

If that's the issue buy a stamp customised for the garage that did it for £10 off ebay. That shows you the usefullness of these stamps.

I only care about a proper invoice and recipt from the garage. Anything else is just hearsay.

Why did you not ask for the print out of the service record before purchasing the vehicle? No service history, no V5C to inspect, walk away.

At a guess it will not have been serviced till they bought the car. A dealer will not waste money doing something they do not need to do.

If it was actually serviced (and it sounds like it may not have been), then a dealer/manufacturer is going to need more than a stamp in a book. They'll want an invoice showing anything needed was done at the time using equivalent quality parts at a VAT registered garage. I've seen manufacturers even request the supplier show the invoice from their suppliers to confirm oil quality used in a service.
If the seller won't engage with you face to face, then you may be looking at claiming from them for the cost of repairs, which sounds like it could be £000's. Harsh lesson to learn - sadly there's a reason the motor trade has a bad reputation, (despite there being many decent garages). With hindsight, your suspicion should have been aroused whn the service warning came on.
