This seems to be a bit of a none story. My account is with Severn Trent and they only review my monthly payment every 6 months when a meter reading is taken. Being locked in for months will inevitably lead to higher water bills as there will have been an underpayment for some months. I am not sure what the MSE team expect water companies to do?It is most certainly not overpaying. If the DD has been set too high, then there will be a credit on the account after 6 months and the next 6 months of DD will be reduced.1

Yep, complete non-story. Customer home more = more water usage = bills go up = DD payments are more.

If the OP had said 'check if you are under-paying because of higher consumption ---- ' it would have made more sense.I can't think of any reason why possible increased consumption would lead to 'overpaying'.0
