What are the options for disposing of a number of fence panels that I'm replacingfrom thr garden? 17 of them in total so its quite a number. I can cut these in two to fit in the car but these panels have been treated so not sure if I can take them to the local council tip?

Take them to the tip. If they don't accept them in their green waste or wood sections they go in the landfill skip.1

I would post them on the local facebook buy/sell group (or free-cycle if there is one) and give it a week, someone will probably collect and make use of them.

They'll almost certainly go in the wood section at the recycling depot. Stuff there might not be treated, but it will be full of glues etc. I don't know what they do with the wood, but it has a calorific value and ought to be releasing heat if it can't be chipped up and re-purposed.

I thought that what council tax was for. Nothing like that in ours.

The writing was on the wall when they started charging for plasterboard and hard waste.

I've done as you suggested. Cut in half and several trips to the tip!1
