Southall travel will not refund flight booking even though flight was cancelled, wont respond

evening, father in law book some flights to india which have been cancelled with Southall travell, they initially promised £600 back of the £1100 but obviously nothing and now they wont respond, a quick google and there seems to be alot of people in the same situation.
Father paid with debit card.    anything we can help him with,  small claims or is it a waste of time

Is he within the time limit for a debit card chargeback?  It's normally 120 days.  If he is, contact the bank.

Cancelled 'with'? Who cancelled them, the agent or your FIL? If the airline cancelled them, he's entitled to a full refund-end of. If he cancelled them, then it will depend on the class of ticket he bought.

the airline cancelled the flights,   hes been promised £600 by the agent but of course,  nothing,  a quick google of the company has resulted in a pattern of people not receiving refunds for cancelled flights

invoice was 24th feb 2020 and his flights was march 15th 2020,  hes only mentioned that hes had several goes and it seems they keep saying over the phone it will be dealt with but of course never a refund or any money back.  I

Why did he leave it so long? No S75 protection, now out of time for a chargeback (15/7/20), so an LBA then small claims process is the only remaining option left.
