Taking in lodger - leasehold

Hi all, I am thinking of getting in a lodger (I have a spare bedroom, I would still live in the property and we would share the kitchen/living room and bathroom).
My property is leasehold and I’ve had a look at the lease, but I am not sure if I am allowed to do so:


The property is in England.

"An assignment of a lease is a complete transfer of the right to be the tenant under the lease...".
and you aren't doing anything like that.
My grand daughter lives in our 2-bedroom leasehold flat and has needed lodgers as she can't afford the rent and utilities alone. We wouldn't even consider asking the freeholder's permission; not that they'd care .
So go for it; just wrap it up with a "Lodger Agreement" (which ain't a tenancy agreement- they won't be tenants; Google it), and add in the obvious stuff that might cause friction later; which rooms are shared, that boy/girlfriend sleepovers are allowed/banned/within limits/ or with agreement..., smoking, sharing kitchen store-cupboard basics etc (my GD drafted her own; I was really impressed!)0 -

There are stickies on this sub-forum about this. Lots of good advice, like having especially formal rules for friends who want to lodge with you, scrupulously avoiding terms like lettings or tenancies, keeping notice times short, no locks on their room doors, noise/ pet/smoking rules etc.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

My question was more about my lease potentially preventing me from taking in a lodger.
