My mother, 81, has recently moved into a brand new bungalow. It was fitted with BT superfast broadband, which is great, but they want to xharge £45 per month. She has a mobile phone, a portal and will eventually have a Smart TV. The charge is way in excess of her needs. What alternatives does she have? The bungalow, admittedly, is not in a great broadband area. Vodaphone have already told her that they cannot provide a line for her. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Bladesfan  look up mi-fi or internet via mobile networks. 3 mobile for example every thing unlimited £18 pcm. Other networks offer similair

BT is not the only ISP who can offer broadband services.  You need to establish your requirements and then see which ISP can best supply them at a price you are comfortable with.
Even if your mum has moved into a FTTP area there are a host of other providers avaiable including SKY, TalkTalk, Zen etc.

What is included for £45?
My suggestion would be check what available on the comparison website. Then ring BT to check if they can lower the price.
