Funeral options

My brothers an FD, so a few points;
they move bodies around the country often, & even internationally, so that's not an issue
Woodland stuff costs! (churches & local authorities were either gifted land, or bought it very cheaply many years ago, & only have to cover costs. The woodland/natural burial sites bought land recently when it's more expensive & are looking to make a profit)
Go & speak to a Funeral Directors, this is what they do.
They have the contacts for churches, & if somethings not available will likely be able to suggest a good alternative.
It can then be planned out & potentially avoid any issues in the future (eg. a plot may be available now, & reservable, but not in X years time)0 -
Many churchyards are closed, because they are full. A few funerals may still take place there if a family previously purchased a plot, but otherwise, no amount of sympathy or generosity can create more space if it is full. There will be new burial places available somewhere else. It is worth finding out in advance.
personally I think funerals are for those left behind. I like the idea of a woodland burial myself, but it may be impractical when the time comes. If a widow/er want to visit the grave often, it is better to chose somewhere local to her/ him.0
