dip your shortbreads or other plain biscuits or bananas in it? Same as you would do with the regular houmous but with peppers or pita or oatcakes.mac.d said:Is this some kind of American vegan way of enjoying a sweet chocolatey food, how would you eat it?I think I'll stick with my shamefully recent discovery of the heaven that is red pepper houmous in Aldi.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Actually, I'm now intrigued enough to try making my own. I like hummus and I like chocolate...mac.d said:Rosa_Damascena said:
So I see. With the exception of the gherkins, absolutely everything on offer is a health disaster.
I was intrigued and disgusted by the sight of the product below. What kind of aberration is this?:

I'm thinking it'll be like chocolate cake icing.1 -
I can’t remember now if it’s Aldi or Lidl, but one of them does a beetroot hummus that’s soo good! 😍Honi swanky malyponze. Or something.2

Re the choc hummus - I was looking at that on Saturday when I was doing my big shop. I said to himself “jeez, I’ve had poorly dogs produce copious amounts of that” and the woman beside me laughed “I was thinking the same thing!” she said!Honi swanky malyponze. Or something.3

Has anyone noticed that the quality of some products from Lidl has dropped considerably recently?
For the first time ever, I took a product back and asked for a refund - Delux pork sausages. OMG they were pure pap inside and the skins were so tough they were basically inedible - even the dog turned. his nose upThe gammon - pure salt - thats been twice this yearThe southern fried chicken - thighs and drumsticks - used to be a 50/50 mix, now only one thigh or two tiny ones, and the skin again is just so thick
Just three products that would be in the trolly once a month or so, now Im not bothering2 -
I noticed their brand is it Rowan Hill or something? crumpets were as you said pure pap and we couldn’t eat them fortunately our dog did force himself and they didn’t hit the bin.1

Gaps on shelves in our two nearest Lidl branches over the last few months too.
Had trouble finding cheap boxes of tissues anywhere ... used to get them at Lidl or Morrison's for 80p, neither had them last shop, ended up buying in Asda. Tesco seem to have stopped selling them and Aldi don't offer a cheap box either.
Lidl Freshona tinned chickpeas, butter beans and kidney beans are nice quality compared to Aldi or Tesco own brand imo. Aldi's Actileaf oat milk is 4p dearer than Lidl's equivalent but seems more creamy so lasts longer.
