Oh really! Were they able to tell you it had gone to audit? It will literally be 2 years then potentially since the start of his original ESA claim by the time we get the decision. I hope no one else has go go through such a long drawn out process.0

The Health Assessment Advisory Service will be able to tell you if the report has been returned. If it's in Audit they will tell you, what they can't tell you is how long it will remain there for. https://www.chdauk.co.uk/employment-and-support-allowance-esa

Thank you Poppy I rang them and they said they sent it thursday. I then rang ESA and she was reluctant to send it saying the only send it once they have the decision but after I contested it and she spoke to someone else she said I can have it and she would send it that day. So nervous to see what shes wrote.0

Sorry to jump on this thread but I’ve been interested in the discussions about the time taken for assessments. I’m self employed and on Universal Credit, I was on Working Tax Credits before covid but was one of the people who mistakenly claimed UC in the March without realising WTC would continue unaffected. I had the disability element on WTC as HMRC takes PIP in to account, but as UC does not take any PIP award in to consideration (even when it’s DWP) I lost that support. After this happened I had apply separately for help with health costs and after the 3 months waiting period on UC I made an application for Limited Capability to Work, the form was returned in June 2020 and we’re almost a year on. In November last year I asked my UC Work Coach if I should contact the company about it’s progress, but she told me “their running behind” and that a lady she knows was still “waiting for information from a January 2020 application and therefore before Covid”. My Work Coach said I should not contact them and “just wait”. I understand delays, but from what I’ve read above this might be pushing things a bit.Starting your own thread would have been better. Asking questions on other peoples threads causes confusion. There's no timescales for assessment waiting times but during part of the pandemic work capability assessments were suspended, which has likely caused a long delay. As for ringing the health assessment providers, i see no harm in doing this. See link.. although it states ESA they are exactly the same company that do UC WCA because they are both the same. https://www.chdauk.co.uk/employment-and-support-allowance-esa

If you informed them of your health condition at the time you applied for UC and sent in continuous fit notes then no harm done. If you waited 3 months to tell them then you'll have lost out on 3 months of the work allowance applying retroactively (applies from when you notified them if you are found to have LCW or LCWRA) and if you're assessed as having LCWRA the element will be backdated to the the 4th full assessment period after you told them - rather then the 4th month of your whole claim, if you'd told them about your health condition straight away.
It does sound like you've been waiting a very long time though. Definitely won't do any harm to phone them and see what's happening.0 -
