Excess money left over after mortgage and sale

With sale of my property along with the mortgage amount I had factored in stamp duty however as that’s still frozen there should be approx 10k surplus left from sale of my property along with how much I have borrowed - what usually happens with this money would it just go to my bank account?

The solicitor should ask what you want them to do with the money. If it is not being used towards an onwards purchase they can transfer it to your bank account, but for security reasons they may want to check the account details.
It won't automatically go anywhere, you will need to tell them, they may have asked already.

And to be on the safe side, go in to your solicitor with your account details

On some of the very first forms provided by solicitor we were asked to put our bank account details in, as well as NI number, date of birth, current address etc., once completion happened they then deposited the remaining funds into that bank account after they’d taken their payment, stamp duty etc.,

You don't pay stamp duty on sales, only on purchases.

Yes, that's your money - it comes back to your bank account.
