Faulty coffee machine. See the seller or manufacturer?

I bought a Nespresso machine in December from Currys.
This week it started leaking coffee which pools around the base. I thought at first i'd somehow not seated the capsule right but it did it the following day & the 2 days after that too.
I descaled it last month & it was obviously fine immediately after.
I ran it through a cleaning cycle the day after it did it this week and that didn't help any either.
Just wondering whether the procedure at this stage (5 months in) is to contact Currys or Nespresso?

Vendor, its who your statutory rights are with.1

You need to get on the ball quickly since up to 6 months old it is up to the vendor to prove the fault is not inherentPast caring about first world problems.1

What would you do/expect with Currys then?I already know that going through Nespresso they want me to phone their technical line and have someone try to assist me over the phone.Currys, I imagine I'll have to take it in to store since they're hardly going to take my word for it.They're not likely to then say did you bring any capsules so that we can test. And I also don't imagine they'll turn around and say terribly sorry sir, here's a new one, without putting up much argument. So what'd you expect to happen with them?0

Personally I'd approch the retailer first by email or phone, I'd expect them to refer you to Nespresso as they act as service agents on Curry's behalf and hopefully they just replace the unit but as its over 30 days old they are legally intitled to attempt 1 repair before you can insist on replacement or money back
The reason I say contact curry's first is that you have a record off following there instructions on how to proceed incase there any issues down the line0 -
(I descaled it last month & it was obviously fine immediately after)Sounds to me like limescale is a problem with something not seating properly .0

That's a lot of limescale build up after a few months ownership from brand new and having had the descaler ran through it even though I hadn't got to the stage of warning lights telling me to do so.
Even my kettle isn't that bad and that gets hammered.0 -
Can you get to the seal and give it a thorough clean?

Plenty of videos and advice online do a search.0

Have you changed the brand of pods you use at all? I have a Nespresso machine and tried some "cheaper" pods which, when used, leaked and filled up the drip tray and the inside of the machine each time. Reverted to original compatible pods, no issues.

I didn't think you could get cheaper pods for this one? I've the one that does the bigger capsules, not the original that does the smaller capsules where I've seen non-brand ones (capsules) or pods, whatever they're called.
But to answer, no I've only used genuine Nespresso ones.
As for plenty of videos, I looked at that before I made this thread. Everything pointed me to giving it a clean cycle and descale, both of which I've done.0
