Hi
Our thermostat is on 27.5 and the house is now warm. On 25 earlier I was freezing. Anyone know what the problem is or what I need to do?

We're not mindreaders so you need to give a lot more information, e.g. fuel, boiler, radiators, thermostat, TRVs etc.0

combi boiler gas, lots of radiators all hot, honeywell thermostat, no idea what a trv is. boiler hasn't lost pressure.0

TRV = Thermostatic Radiator Valve. If the problem persists I think you will have to call a heating engineer. 25 is a very high setting in the first place so I think your thermostat may have just gone a bit more wrong than it was before.Reed1

The boiler and / or the radiators may be too small to deliver sufficient heat to warm the rooms up rapidly enough. The radiators may need bleeding (are they hot to the top?) or are clogged with sludge (cold at the bottom). It's probably been cold overnight so it may have taken longer to warm up if the radiators can barely overcome the heat losses.BTW, this forum doesn't attract many responses because it's for LPG, Oil, Solid & Other Fuels. Try Energy instead.1

Have you got a thermometer to see what the temperature actually is, is the room with the thermostat?
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -

Just checking. Is your thermostat fixed on the wall or free-standing? If the latter then is it picking up a heat source, eg rare sunshine or some other heat source. My BG Hive thermostat needs to be protected from the sun in its location in our open plan lounge/diner.1

Worse still, has the thermostat accidentally got moved to on top of a radiator?Reed1

It's freestanding but it's nowhere near a heat source. I've just noticed a radiator has started to make continuous noise. Low level - maybe a hiss type noise. That's only just started tonight and the thermostat has needed to be high for days now.0
