New Sim only deal for a Ltd company

Hi, I've recently started trading as a Ltd company and would like a second number exclusively for the business (it's just me at the moment).  I have an old handset to use so I just want  a Sim only deal with contract in company name.  Is this ok to do? Does it have to be a business contract or anything like that?
Thank you

In an ldeal world you should buy the phone in the company name, and then you can claim for the cost of the phone, the contract tariff, and the cost of the calls over and above your tariff. You should pay for the purchase of the phone and for the contract and/or calls through the company business account or with the company credit card. This way, it is clear that the company purchased and is running the phone. Ensure that the bill is in the company name and that payment for it is from the company account.

    This might be of interest:

But of course if you're bringing your own handset in you should be able to get a new contract in the name of the company and then claim the (business) costs/calls as company expenses.  You wouldn't be able to claim for the handset.

Important caveat:  If you agree to a business deal or tariff in anything, from gas/electricity to mobile phone, you do not have cooling off.  So make sure you 100% understand what you are agreeing to before you agree to it.  This includes saying yay or nay on the telephone to something.

I have a business but not a limited one, I have a bank account in the business name, and I have a credit card in my own name, but which I use only for the business.  Don't know if it's any different for a limited company, but never had any hassle with HMRC.  I'm also VAT registered.
