Argos faulty hot tub

Bought a hot tub from argos 2 months ago . Now broke and will not heat water. Argos say I need to get a code from manufacturer before they can do anything. Tried to contact the manufacturer but can never get through . Placed on hold on my last call and then after 45 minutes wait was just cut off.
Anybody else had a similar problem with Argos?

Not sure about Argos specifically but I've seen more threads about faulty hot tubs than I have about any other product in the last year.  They're either being bought in enormous numbers hence why the complaints have risen, or the market is flooded with cheap rubbish being flogged by the likes of Argos, The Range, etc. rather than by specialist suppliers.

Argos are entitled to establish that a fault exists but if you simply can't get through to the manufacturer (perhaps they're inundated with similar problems?), go back to Argos, try and reject it and see what they say.  It might at lease generate a better response from them.  Did you pay by credit card?

    rs.

Argos are entitled to establish that a fault exists
In the first 6 months it's taken that the goods didn't conform to the contract unless demonstrated otherwise.

Whilst Argos can do as they wish to establish whether or not the goods do conform they must offer a resolve within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to the consumer, basically they should inspect the goods on their own time, a call to the manufacture by the customer may be a reasonable request but if they are not able to be easily contacted this would be Argos' problem. :)

OP just go back to Argos and advise as per the Consumer Rights Act you would them to offer a repair, replacement or full refund and if they wish to deal with the manufacture that's up to them to sort out.

There is a contact on the "CEO email" website for Argos and you can cc in Sainsburys CEO who own Argos.
