Champions League and Europa League finals question.

Am I right in thinking that last year both the Champions League final and Europa League final were free to view without needing a BT subscription?
If that was the case, I'm unable to see anything similar on offer this year.
Does anybody know if the games are going to be available on any free platforms this year, even if just highlights?

Champions League most likely on BT Sports 2.  Europa BT Sports 1.  They are both "exclusive" to BT.  Highlights will probably be on YouTube.

These are not "protected" sporting events so there is no requirement for them to be on "free" TV, either exclusively or as highlights.

Is Champions League final free to watch in UK?

BT Sport have shown the final for free in the UK since they won the rights to broadcast the Champions League from the 2015-16 season.

This year’s Champions League final is likely to be shown on BT Sport 2, while it is set to be available to live stream for free on the BT Sport app, on BTSport.com, as well as on BT Sport’s YouTube channel.

Thank you for replies. I do not subscribe to BT Sport, but am subscribed to the free BT Sport app on YouTube, and it appears the games are being streamed on YouTube, with no mention of a charge.
So, fingers crossed....

BT have confirmed as in previous years both finals will be available free on various platforms including online, Virgin and YouTube.
