National Tyres and Autocare
Ive seen the adverts for an interest free, pay over four months option for National Tyres, I’ve never used them but am tempted by the finance arrangement, I need to replace all four tyres and this would help.
Thanks

They're not bad to be fair from my experience with them and the payment assist. It isn't your standard finance so doesn't show on credit scores etc. You need to pay 25% on the day but it's really straightforward setting it up, just a few forms to sign.saker75 said:Hi all

Thanks
I went looking to change one tyre but all four needed replacing (a previous botched tyre replacement elsewhere meant my tyres were facing in on each other).
It was really handy having that option meant I could go for a slightly better brand of tyre too.1 -
Kwik Fit have been trading for decades but I’d call them charlatans! I wouldn’t go near them. I’ve never used National and this forum often has strong views!forgotmyname said:National company trading for 50 years charlatans?1 -
Thanks Chris. That was my understanding too. Sounds like a plan.0 -
Kwikfit, like many other big chains and big car dealers, tend to pray on the ignorant.saker75 said:

But I've found if you stick to the basics they are fine.
You go for tyres, you come out with tyres and you don't take any heed of their claims about shocks etc,.
They often have really good deals, I got 2 x Michelin + free bluetooth earphones for less than Black circles recently.2 -
@saker75
I used my local Nat.Tyres depot quite often years ago and never had any complaints;...things change though of course.
Offering interest free payment terms for relatively small purchases is a very effective way of enticing new customers through the door.
Nat/Tyres are happy as they hopefully sell more tyres etc but more importantly the finance company (who will be the ones funding the interest free incentive) also have a new customer on their books so to speak;...and said new customer will be viewed as a ripe target for other finance products.
However, if the price is competitive and paying over 4-months suits you then go for it, imo.

Obviously each location differs, but I've been really impressed with my local centre (Chelmsford). I would't hesitate to recommend them.1
