Ok, thank you, I understand. I don't agree on the fairness point, but I get that this is now irrelevant.

Does anyone else have a different opinion? Otherwise perhaps I shall cut my losses and give this miserable business my money.
You could try a POPLA appeal, load it with every appeal point going, and gamble on it being too overwhelming for them to bother rebutting it, and simply don't respond to POPLA, handing you a win by default.

Or, you could ignore it and take a gamble on them not pursuing this to court. It often costs them more than they can recover to sue.  Or if they do sue you, they could go so far down the court route, then decide to discontinue, leaving you with a technical win. It's £100 (£60?) now or £200 if you lost at court. That's the gamble.

As you will see I've said 'gamble' three times. Nothing in this game is black or white, just shades of grey, and the outcome for you is more in others' hands than in your own. You decide, but no one here will tell you to pay this, well, not without one hell of a fight!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Fair in relation to it's predecessor , don't take it out of context

The Care parking regime is much , much fairer than it's Excel predecessor , which is very true because I have helped friends , family , plus hundreds on here for several years against the previous administration led by Excel parking , so I can directly compare the two , whereas Care parking Metrolink car parks are definitely not fair at all and I assist with those in a more direct manner due to those complexities, nothing like the Peel centre retail park however

If you can find a chunk in the legal points I listed and win at Popla or in Court , then well done and let me and us know in the future , good feedback is always welcome

Sometimes mistakes happen , you suffer the consequences and learn from them , but paying close attention to signage when driving and Parking should be a priority for any driver , anywhere , anytime

    Good luck

Thanks. If they go to court, though, don't I end up with a CCJ? The true cost of that is far more than the cash cost?

You do if you lose and fail to pay the Judgment within the 30 days window , so yes , of course it's dearer , typically £200 , or less , for one PCN , the claim has to be issued within 6 years , so by 2027

So if you lost in Court , pay up , in full , promptly , to avoid those issues

No-one who follows our advice from appeal, defence, WS and hearing all the way through ends up at risk of a CCJ.

Why not just read the NEWBIES thread, or any threads about any stage, this is all made clear everywhere.  Has the Peel Centre refused to help you out and cancel it then?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have read it more than once end to end - it's really good, thank you. So much to try to take in and memorise, though.

I can't get in touch with anyone at the Peel Centre. There are email addresses online for 4 individuals, at least 2 of whom no longer work there, and the others haven't deigned to respond. If you have any other ideas for how to reach them I'd be keen to try!
