The most accurate way is to stay up and capture the start and end time manually....in case you have a meter like mine, which has completely different offpeak times than my area's.0

Is it a digital meter or an analogue one?
The digital ones keep their own time and you can read the time on the meter. You tend to find the supplier puts a sticker for the time on the meter as well. Although digital timers can go many hours out of sync. So, don't rely on the region time but rely on your own meter time.
