Depending on when and where you last used your car it could have been damaged away from home - if you parked in the dark you could eaily not have noticed the damage. Irrespective of that, you don't actually know for sure that the car you saw was the culprit, Best bet as has already been said is when you see a neighbour just ask in passing if they saw anything that might have caused the damage.0
