DawnW said:@allydowd, you do make me laugh - next time I am tempted by online shopping I need to follow your example and climb a mountain I think
There aren't actually any mountains round here, so will have to make do with a low hill..... might work I suppose!

Morning folks!
Good job I'd decided not to go to the gym today because I'm destroyed hahaha. Even my hands and feet are aching! Got a few bits to do today because we are going away for a couple of nights tomorrow! I'm very excited! We are also meeting my parents at the glamourous location of the motorway services. It is about half way between our respective homes but only half an hour from where we are holidaying to it made sense to FINALLY exchange christmas gifts!!
Today's list:Working from home so saving petrol/train fare
Chopped and froze 4 pears that had suddenly ripened simultaneously. Added one that was past redemption to the compost trimming
B/L/D from stores
Go to shop as I owe my dad a bottle of rum because I drank his Christmas one during lockdown
Make up a packed brunch for tomorrow
Pack!
Friend popping over at lunchtime so will sit in the garden
Terrible hayfever so am using hanky instead of tissues as nose is constant.
Wash on and will peg outside
Have a good one all

Hey all! I am a fresh newbie to this, so I hope I'm "doing it" right!
So dfw things I am doing this week:
* I work Mon-Wed so tomorrow when I'm home to get the timings right, I am going to make a huge batch of spag bol in the slow cooker. I have read about bulking it out with porridge oats so I am going to give that a go - that will be dinner for tomorrow plus a meal for the freezer.
* I also made a pizza on Monday night to eat for lunch for a few days....also made too many chips for dinner last night so have saved them for today's lunch. I've heard mixed reviews about reheated chips so I will reserve judgement for the taste test but hey, you don't know if you don't try do you?!
* I have also been gifted some money this week. £25, so not masses of it, but I'm working on changing my habits and whereas usually if I have any spare cash I will be thinking what to spend it on (usually stuff I don't need) I'm going to put 20 down as an extra payment on a debt and spend the remaining 5 on a packet of pegs so I can hang my washing out. I use a heat pump dryer which is supposedly easier on the electricity bills but nothing is as easy on them as air drying!
* I've also got a couple of bits for sale on fb marketplace. I have to say I have very little luck selling things - I get the interest but nobody ever shows up! So I won't hold my breath but I might make a few quid perhaps.
In general life though, today I have taken a half day off at work as I am planning on returning to uni to retrain as a mental health nurse and before that I have to do an Access to HE course at college. Today is my college interviewso I am going to spend an hour or so before that decluttering the spare room, then do that, then spend another hour watching netflix decluttering before the kids and the fiance have to be rounded up

Hi May Marvelousos,Life at Dowd Towers is still quite "dynamic".Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Seven:Checked online banking.Alarm clock off at the wall during day time.Turn off Wifi box when not using it.Treated ourselves to a demi-takeaway. Cooked a main dish at home but bought chips to accompany it from the local chip shop. En route to chip shop found £1 on the pavement.

Morning all! I'm up and having a coffee I was getting ready to go to work but I feel real sick and drained from this jab yesterday! I've had to call in sick at work as I don't feel safe driving myself to work today. I'm gonna try and get some extra rest and hopefully I'll feel better in time for the dog photoshoot this evening otherwise I'll not get my deposit back of £45! Take care all gonna rest up!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe boards and spending & discounts boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Morning allVile weather continues. We had hail, rain and thunder yesterday and it got really cold
Apparently high winds with a risk of damage and disruption for the next couple of days.
Managed to walk the dog before it started raining this morning, and propped the growhouse top open a little way cautiously with a brick, instead of opening it fully so that the wind could catch it. The thing itself is much too heavy to blow away, but the top, which raises and is simply supported by a pair of struts, could easily be damaged.I am working again this afternoon - the road where the shop is situated is currently undergoing road works and is intermittently and randomly closed, and the shop is really dead. I think we only took about £37 all day on Tuesday when I was last inHopefully it will be done soon, as we have had 2 weeks of this. Not only does it put customers off, but the traders can't get access to restock their units - so there isn't much choice for customers who do venture in.
Not much planned apart from that as I had a rotten night's sleep, and walking there and back (can't access by car) and standing all afternoon, plus the boredom of it with nothing much to do, will wear me out. I have got pesto out of the freezer to make pesto pasta for dinner, as we haven't had a vegetarian main meal yet this week (we aim for at least 2 a week). Pesto pasta is a bit boring but easy, cheap as I make my own pesto from home grown basil during the summer and freeze it, and filling!1 -
