Crown Point Retail Park Leeds - UKPC fines for overstaying when you had actually left

I got a penalty notice last week saying I'd stayed for 4 hours when in fact I had been to the park 3 times that day once in the morning to drop off my heavily pregnant wife at work 10 mins, secondly over lunch to buy a new suit approx 30 mins and then the third time picking up the wife from work again 30 mins. Thanks to their ANPR camera's messing up the ticket says I arrived at 12.30 and left at 5.03. What is worse is I drive a company car and my company got the ticket and now I face a disciplinary hearing for gross misconduct abusing company time where I can lose my job. I have appealed to the parking company but will help my case with work if I can find others who have been in a similar situation?

Pedant mode , UKPC issue Parking Charge Notices , not Penalty notices
Double dipping cases like yours abound , anpr monitoring is only about 80% effective
The Edna basher advice at the bottom of the First post of the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum in announcements is of great help with company vehicle issues1 -
What is worse is I drive a company car and my company got the ticket and now I face a disciplinary hearing for gross misconduct abusing company time where I can lose my job.Do you mean that the company are swallowing that you were absent from work for the 4 hours UKPC allege the vehicle was parked there, or are they accepting your position of 3 separate visits which they say amount to 'abusing company time'?Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

The company believe I was there shopping for a full 4 hours, despite me telling them this parking company is notorious for mistakes they haven't bothered to look into it and are proceeding with disciplinary next week so trying to gather as much evidence as possible.Umkomaas said:What is worse is I drive a company car and my company got the ticket and now I face a disciplinary hearing for gross misconduct abusing company time where I can lose my job.Do you mean that the company are swallowing that you were absent from work for the 4 hours UKPC allege the vehicle was parked there, or are they accepting your position of 3 separate visits which they say amount to 'abusing company time'?0 -
Check if the vehicle has black box tracking for insurance purposes , or for company purposes, that tracking data is crucial to the case
Check the tracking for your mobile phone , especially if it's a company phone , again it could be crucial to your case0 -
No tracking for the car however hadn't thought about tracking for the phone thank you will check into that nowRedx said:Check if the vehicle has black box tracking for insurance purposes , or for company purposes, that tracking data is crucial to the case

if you have google maps and can log in on a pc (as its easier ) its under timeline.
If there was a case that deserved a GDPR claim against both the landowner ( as principle) and the parking company (as agent) then this could / should be a very strong contender.

Cheers, unfortunately I have googlemaps but use the in car navigation if needed so I don't use my phones gps.Half_way said:if you have google maps and can log in on a pc (as its easier ) its under timeline.

the phone may have recorded the location either which way.
looking a little further, if I was in your situation I would be behind furious.
the fact that you face a disciplinary will have an effect on your employment, and under that threat I would be looking at substantial damages.
also look to see if crown point has had previous double dips. From the Plain Language Commission:

I've checked the googlemaps and nothing, pretty sure I disabled the facebook tracking a while ago but will check that too.Half_way said:the phone may have recorded the location either which way.

I was beyond furious mate and looking for any legal case I can raise against the company even if I'm cleared.

Double dipping is common .... just another flaw for UKPC on top of them faking pictures
Your employer should be on your side and not that of a well known scammer like UKPC2
