Starfury Conventions Refund

Hi,
Wondering if anyone can help. My daughter bought a ticket last year for a convention that was supposed to be being held in May (and then moved to July) 202. Obviously its been cancelled due to COVID however she has still not received a refund. She has sent several emails and not heard anything. She found a mobile number on the FB site for the company and I rag it just now (this is one guy running the company and think by his response this was his personal mobile number). He was quite afronted that I had rung him on a Sunday however i continued to question him about when he will issue refunds.....he says July time but then also said "I don't have to give a refund at all, it states on my website that no refunds are available". He then went on to tell me he had not made any money out of this as he had paid the actors/venue. My daughter did not pay by credit card. Is there anything she can do? Can he refuse to give a refund?

He shouldn't refuse to refund, because he's not provided what he was contracted to provide, but in the event he does, then your daughter could try her bank if she paid by debit card, or ultimately take him to small claims court and hope he has the means to refund if she wins.1

well..we were both surprised to receive an email from them today stating a refund is on its way! I hadnt told him her name so not sure if it was because of the phone call or just a coincidence...either way hopefully she will have her refund in the next few days.
