I applied for my mother 2 weeks ago, she received a reply a week later telling her that because her ‘request is complex’ they are allowed to extend the reply date by 2 months, she should expect a reply in October.

I also applied for myself and my missus, we haven’t heard anything, so I assume our applications are not complex and hopefully we will receive our reports shortly.
Seems to be the standard response - but the good news is that my reply arrived 10 days later, despite the 'give us 3 months' letter I received. Looking at other posts on this forum, they seem to have had similar experiences - although I guess the timescale might be a bit more now we are in peak holiday time.
Just an update: My Mothers Complex request turned up 27th July (3 months early) and My Missus SAR turned up 28th July, just waiting for mine now.

Many thanks to everyone that contributed to the original post, a job well done 👍

If only they would send a PDF instead of a paper copy.

Has anyone done this recently and had a timely response? I was just wondering what the average wait time was at the moment. I submitted a request on 09/07/23 so the month is up today but I'm not expecting complex results so was hoping for sooner rather than later. Thanks.

Slight hijacking of the thread here but broadly connected I think.

I submitted a request on behalf of my wife at the end of last year and received the results in November. However what I got back was only 3 pages listing years, employer name abbreviations, earnings and NI paid for each year/employer. Nothing like the detail mentioned by other posters.

Was hoping to find useful information to assist in tracking down a forgotten pension or two.

Has anyone else experienced this, receiving a brief summary rather than the hundreds of pages of detailed info mentioned by others? I'm wondering whether to submit the request again and see whether I get more if someone else handles the case.

Yes - this thread describes exactly what I have received. No explanation though as to why some people get 4 basic pages and others get 100+ pages of great detail.

    Any further ideas?

So the day after my post asking about response times, I received my response. 🙄

Like I said, I wasn't expecting anything complex but I also only received basic information.
