Use land registry, £3, to get deeds of some other valuable property.  Then provide that owner name and address.  Agent happy,  you not traceable, job done!

Agent (... really greedy salesman...) just grabbing as much info as possible for their evil marketing plans, plus pre-qualification of buyer.  Just as letting agents and landlords often do for rental viewings.

You could always ask agent for same info for them.... ( sauce, goose, gander....).  Explain that's your documented process.. Clearly there is also a risk of agent murdering or abducting viewer

Tbh I think being the home owner I would prefer to know the details of who is coming into my house, for safety of my private space and for Covid too, after all you wouldn’t have strangers just walking in off the street it’s usually only invited guests that get across the door way

We have provided our full details for every viewing and, as we are cash buyers, some agents have even asked us to show proof of funds.
I wasn't happy about showing them a bank statement but it was either that or not view a house.  I completely understand them wanting to see proof of funds during covid though - no seller wants people traipsing through their house just for a nosey.

Might also be a track and trace thing at the moment.
They would need to declare collecting data for this purpose before asking for the address.

It's just to 'get you registered'.
Idea being they only arrange viewings for people registered with them that they have minimally vetted to confirm their status as genuine buyers.
Viewings are supposed to be limited, open houses etc are not allowed right now.

More likely to record the introduction.
