I am very jealous! I have used the family solicitors - they have been very good in the past but seem to be ignoring me! I know everyone is very busy - but for what I am paying them I would expect better service!!!!Irishpearce26 said:I used an online conveyancer (both sale & purchase) who have a portal that is updated daily, they responded to emails within 24 hours which was logged, I could even see when they emailed the lender or other solicitor. All documents were uploaded to the portal which really sped things up. I probably paid a little bit more than an independent firm but the service was A+.0 -
Are you on a fixed fee or time charged basis?Redwino222 said:

I used an online conveyancer recommended by the EA. Never again.
Offer accepted on property in November but only time I spoke to solicitor was mid-March when she was pushing to exchange/complete. Never available by phone and didn't answer emails. Online portal not kept up to date either.1 -
Then they've budgeted to spend so much time on the transaction. I'm sure that they'll happily charge you to speak to them or respond to every email you send. Have you ever accounted for how you spend your working day in 5 minute segments?Redwino222 said:fixed fee for the service - buying and selling0 -
I is m not sure why you appear to be scolding me? Not really in the spirit of the site.Thrugelmir said:

Oh he does it every time. I think he is a solicitor himself; certainly displays the appropriate amount of disdain.Redwino222 said:

I have had the opposite experience - the online solicitor recommended by the EA was £1000 cheaper than using a local one so I went with them (buying only) - we deal with one person and she is absolutely first class - answers emails within 20 minutes, keeps me regularly updated and is tenacious with detail.Jaybee_16 said:I used an online conveyancer recommended by the EA. we put in the offer on 24 March and are due to complete on 21 May🤞(No chain either side).
i read somewhere that our estate agents get £300 for recommending the conveyancer - I am happy with this and sorry you did not have such a good experience0 -
I rang the solicitor. Just a very clipped call, wasn’t able to give much information As someone else had checked out the file and he was off?But all searches done on my house and with purchaser. On the house I am buying one outstanding certificate. Hopefully that means when (hopefully not if) my purchasers mortgage come through things can move quite quickly.0

One of a number of stock excuses. They share them amongst each other. A complete lack of professional integrity is displayed as a matter of pride.Redwino222 said:I rang the solicitor.
