Not necessarily, and its not always just about being willing to pay moreManxman_in_exile said:Doesn't being willing to pay more than anybody else make the successful bidder a bit of a loser rather than a winner?0 -
I don't think it is a 'con; I know it is a 'word con'.sheramber said:
Only you think it is a conIvanOpinion said:Just won a new monitor for my computer. I had to go up against a Currys salesman and managed to get a bit of discount. I still feel I purchased it though - this 'won' con still hasn't quite sunk in - I suppose I could think that the discount meant I won the stand, instruction booklet and cardbox it came in (not much use though without the monitor). I guess all those that paid the full price are considered losers.
On the plus side I won a pack of 4 Dunkin Donuts this evening in our local supermarket - a genuine win (not requiring me to pay for them), as opposed to a make believe auction based ones - were you still have to purchase the product you ""won""(often having paid over the odds, according to eBays own stats). I was lucky I had only gone down to ""win"" a pint of milk for tomorrow mornings cornflakes (that, apparently, I ""won"" on Tuesday in my Tescos delivery).I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0
