Buying car from mobility owner

Family member is due to change their car at the start of August, leased through the mobility scheme.
We're looking for the same make and model just now, and wondered if it would be possible to buy theirs, as we know it's history, and that it's been looked after.
Does anyone know if this would be possible, and the process to do so?

Googled a bit more (I had initially), it appears the supplying garage gets first refusal of your car, but under certain circumstances, Motability can provide a personalised quote to purchase directly from them.
Anyone know the ins and outs of this? Current leasee would be replacing the car with a new mobility car.0 -
You cannot buy the end of lease Motability car anymore.

https://www.stoneacre.co.uk/motability-can-i-buy-my-motability-carThis relates to existing motability customers. The OP isn't a motability customer and wants to buy a family members motability vehicle.OP i'd advise maybe giving the dealers a ring that the car was bought from or contact motability and they maybe able to help you further. I know that my previous motability car was sold just a week after it was returned.1 -
Here's a link that i found, which says...The dealership that the vehicle is returned to usually gets the first option to buy it, and if the car has been priced competitively by Motability, has a low mileage and has been returned in a good condition, they'll quickly snap it up if they believe that it's 'prime stock' that they can sell quickly on the used car forecourt.
If the dealer doesn't want it, the car will be collected by Motability, refurbished, photographed, and then added to a special online database that other Motability dealers can buy ex-Motability vehicles through.

The car is returned to the same dealers where the new car is collected from.

No worries, i have moments like that. I was in curry's today buying a keyboard for my computer (not cheap) and for the guarantee she asked me for my postcode.. -coughs- i couldn't for the life of me think what it was and gave her a mixture of my current one and previous one lol.

That link is about the mobility customer purchasing the vehicle. The OP asking the question isn't a mobility customer so it doesn't apply to them.
