Correct me if I'm wrong, but AFAIK it's perfectly OK to travel with a passport in a maiden name PLUS a marriage certificate showing the new name, and therefore a ticket in the new name.

    yes but a set amount
i have copied this from an earlier post i made:

[I had a similar experienece in March 07 when i was charged £75 by OPODO & Etihad to change Mr to Mrs. They all made heavy work of it and the communication from OPODO was appaling. I was told to send the ticket back and once i'd done that they rang and told me the cost was now £125 as the cheaper ticket i had bought was no longer available. I had nothing in writing from OPODO or Etihad this was all done via the phone and emails were not replied to. Because i had writen to OPODO about the £75 charge they grudgingly agreed to only charge me that.]

I did not mind paying an admin fee for my sex change, but as i have a very feminine first name, thought the re-issuing of the ticket was OTT.

However they did re-issue the ticket and booked me on a different flight home from my other half.
