How to contact the DVLA ?

Filled and sent the "M1 Form" off 6 months ago and still no response. Just an update a few months back saying they have contacted my consultant. My consultant confirmed they had sent the form off months ago.

DVLA also said they'd received the response from the consultant and it's now being " processed "
The last update was 3 months ago, maybe more. If I try phoning up for an update it gets cut off, they don't reply to emails either.

Can anyone help and assist in what I need to do to get through ?

Thanks

    Try the live chat?

You'll probably get a message saying that all the advisors are busy and to click "end chat". If you ignore that and type something else the Bot will ask if you want them to try and help you to which you click "no thanks" and it then attempts to put you back in the queue for a chat agent.... took about 4 cycles before I got to speak to someone and much less painful than the recorded messages etc each time you call

DVLA's processing time has been incredibly poor ever since Covid was a thing, and all they give you is excuses.

The Swansea office has been an absolute shambles in dealing with COVID.

The Swansea office was - obvs - under Welsh rules, which were - obvs - different to English ones.
They also had a major outbreak in the office, and are currently dealing with industrial action over their precautions.

They answered my Qs on medical applications but it was a generic question.

I'll try the live chat tomorrow..

They did answer me on twitter and asked for my phone number, took three days for them to reply asking for my number.

I have a feeling they'll call me when i'm busy. It's a right nightmare, how are people supposed to contact the dvla when they don't seem to be taking phone calls, and don't reply to emails ?

I have the same issue, all I get on the phone is "we apologise, but due to high demand all of our lines are busy", been waiting months for updates, send letters off on the 27th April still not received so had to get my doctor to email them the letter, can't get through for the past week. It's disgraceful.

I finally got through this morning.
I phoned up over 50 times and eventually got through.
At bang on 8AM keep redialling until you get through, took about 5 mins of constant redialling until I got through.

Unfortunately there's still no progress, it's being reviewed by the " medical team " apparently

Knowing how badly the office was hit with Covid - the medical team are probably still off sick. They still seem to be playing catch-up.
