Hi - I am in a similar situation, I moved into a new build a number of years ago and have not been able to find out who is supplying my gas until recently.  I did pay gas to a supplier for 2 years and they advised I was no longer their client and they couldn't help me.  I didn't know where to go next until recently I have identified that the post code on my gas meter and where it is registered to is wrong.  From above it looks like I need to contact the existing supplier which I have just found out is EON and tell them to change the post code.  I have not been billed by EON and my gas supply has never stopped, so will need to identify if someone else has been paying my gas bill or EON just haven't been billing anyone for it.  
Is there any further advise you can give me.  I was going to speak to the Citizens Advice Bureau as to next steps as I need to get this sorted as it is constantly worrying me.
