Has the debit card been stopped?

Given no refund as yet. The only reason for that is there is a strong suspicion on the involvement in the transaction. As they would have to back that up if it went to FOS for not refunding.
Yes new card was issued, received the new one. Also is it fair I have to wait on the merchant, what happens if they don't reply? & suspicion of what? the payment was fraudulent whys it taking so long
Barclays were obliged to refund you "by the end of the next business day, unless the bank has reasonable grounds to suspect that you acted fraudulently", so if they didn't refund promptly then, assuming it's not down to incompetence, it's because they feel they have reason to believe you were involved.

They'll presumably be liaising with the merchant to find out more detail about exactly how/where/when the payment was made, so if, for example, it was an online payment made from an IP address that you've used then that will be seen as suspicious.

The onus is on them to demonstrate that you were involved, rather than you having to demonstrate that you weren't, but the delay does signify that they feel it's necessary to keep digging....

Guys still no update from Barclays. This claim was originally put forward on April 12th and I'm still waiting on what's happening.

If they have requested info from retailer then they have 45 days to reply.
TBH. Have you not complained yet?
