Selling with upstairs PP granted

Hi all, posted some months back about my neighbor looking to get planning permission for a balcony on top of my kitchen which I objected to. I was about to start the process of selling, but I'm now trying to sell a flat with PP granted, to me nobody's going to want to buy it.  I can still stop the balcony going through as I'm part of share of freehold.  I'm thinking now that PP has been granted, if i want to sell I'm better letting it go ahead and revaluing after and going from there - the bottom line I think is nobody's going to buy with PP on a flat - so if want to move i need to let it happen, or at least let them explore the possibility (may end up being cost prohibitive) - just wondered what people thought :)

    Why would PP bother someone if it development can be reliably blocked through the share of freehold? (I'm assuming that's correct).

    Buyers may not even pick up on the issue. If they do, then you tell them that the neighbour was under the misapprehension the freehold would approve the work, or did not realise approval was necessary. Then tell them how to preserve that situation, if they want to.

    It may not be helpful, but it may not be a deal-breaker for everyone.

    Yeah i hear you, i was thinking would someone want to buy a flat that your highly likely to get into a 'debate' with your new neighbor about a balcony as soon as you move in.  It's share of freehold with 2 other flats - they have no objection (their flats are round the front of the property, and they rent them out anyway)

    What's the issue with the upstairs flat having a balcony on your kitchen roof?

    from talking to my solicitor he's gone over the lease and said it needs all the freeholders permission for any work

    Just devaluation when selling / making it harder to sell - which had a surveyor and EA tell me would be the case

    I don't see why it would devalue your flat, if done properly.
