I used to have BT call blocker, had a huge list of blocked numbers but it still went on & on. Annoyingly, it blocked my GP (they withhold their number) & no matter what I did in the set-up it still kept blocking it, so I dumped the facility.  Strangely, that is when I started to get a lot LESS of these types of calls!

Call blockers are pointless these days as it's so easy to fake CLI. They often fake the number so it's similar to your number so it looks local. Some have faked the real number of banks etc so when the victim gets suspicious they suggest googling the banks number and it matches the CLI.

I’ve never had a single one of these type of calls, ever. What am I doing wrong? 😆

You obviously are not visiting those great cinematic sites where they spend so much on the setting and actors that they can't afford clothes or a scriptwriter (since the script is made up entirely of vowels).

New one to me today. I have committed National Insurance fraud and am about to be prosecuted. One voice Mail, one call I answered.  No buttons pressed though.

Disappointedly, I've only had one this week, from the investigations department of the National Crime Agency (I didn't even realise that we had such a thing in the UK). There's a warrant for my arrest apparently. No idea what I've done as I disconnected the call before they could tell me. Maybe next time I should wait until I can find out what I've done.

Although, being as they deal with serious and organised crime, maybe it's because I've watched all six series of "Line of Duty" and now know that to be a member of an Organised Crime Group, you have to play golf. Or at least carry the equipment . . .

Just had another one, warrant out for my arrest (wonder if it's the same warrant?) and threatening all sorts of dire consequences if I didn't press "1".

Funnily enough, when I didn't press "1", the call terminated. So I guess that there's no warrant for my arrest either. Disappointing, really.

I just don't answer the phone. If it's a genuine caller they leave a message. If not they don't. Sometimes I'm not in so can't answer anyway. I've never understood why folk feel that they must answer a phone, just because it rings. People say to me, "what if it's an emergency though?!" I say, what if it's an emergency and I'm out? Or my mobile's off or my landline is broken? If it's an emergency and I'm available (screening the answerphone that is) then I will answer, as in days of yore. In fact, in the days of yore before yore existed, my parents never even had a phone and had to rush to the nearest phone box if they wanted to make their own emergency calls.

No phone call is so urgent that I need to answer. That's why there's an answerphone. Unless someone has specifically asked if it's all right for them to call at a particular time, of course. To not answer that call would just be rude.
