  • @Coupon-mad and @Redx and everyone else, I have an update and I'm hoping someone can tell me the best response.... A letter from DCBL basically saying their client wishes to proceed, questionnaires from court to follow, client may be prepared to settle, call if you want to do this. Is that standard, letter seems a lot more polite than the previous ones! Shall I just wait for the questionnaire or see what their settlement offer is (I'm willing to offer £5...!)

Surely not. The golden rule is never ever phone a parking company or their solicitor.

They can promise you the earth in a phone call and then deny it later.

Not to mention they will undoubtedly trick you into answering questions that are, at best, left unanswered.

You need evidence of everything  - a phone call won't give you that.

You can request a copy. Also any calls to them or their legal team should be followed up by an email synopsis anyway.(they can challenge anything they believe is incorrect)

Thanks @Coupon-mad, I will be sure to do that! Just filled out my N180 and sending that off, I will keep coming back each week to check for the Consultation and make it clear what effect all this has on us...
  • Hi all, thanks for your help so far. I wanted to ask, is it normal now to be ordered to take part in a Dispute Resolution Hearing?

I'm a little confused as to what information I need to provide as it says the date of the telephone call is October 20th but they don't need documents submitted until October 26th - Is this for the a further hearing if required? If so, do I need to provide anything for the DRH or will it just reference the Defence document I have already submitted?

    Thanks for any suggestions!

Search the forum for Dispute Resolution.

Waste of time, glorified Mediation but you have no choice but to attend the pointless half hour session where a rookie Judge who (usually) knows nothing about private parking scams, will likely tell you that you have no case due to ParkingEye v Beavis, and ask if you want to settle!

"Errrmmm...no thankyou Sir/Madam, I am content with my defence thankyou and am looking forward to my case being heard or the Claimant discontinuing, as parking firms often do".
