Not everyone but there is tendency for posters to begrudge people getting money and needing advice.  They just want people to comment about not having money so they can judge and patronize I.e. well you shouldn't have done this or that.  Circumstances change and things happen that are out of your control and sometimes we make mistakes.  No one is perfect, including you.

No you're completely missing the point. You've obviously come to post on a forum to see if people agree with you that you should ask for more money. This is neither here nor there.

The point I'm making is rather than being vague and sketchy it's actually more helpful for other forum users if problem companies are mentioned so that maybe they can learn and benefit from other users. Its not going to hurt you to mention the company is it. But it might help someone else avoid a problem company or if someone is in the same situation as you with that company they can offer advice.

Sometimes it's worth thinking about others right?

Does the ombudsman ever offer compensation in excess of £60 (plus a refund of any money taken in error)?

Whether or not any of us believe that The EO should have offered more compensation is somewhat irrelevant. The EO will have issued a Decision which the OP can either accept or reject. If the Decision is rejected then the supplier is off the hook: neither the supplier or The EO will engage in any further discussion. The OP would then have to consider legal action against the supplier.
